HARDYS Man of the Match

We are proud to have HARDYS sponsor our Man Of The Match awards again this year. A bottle of HARDYS wine will be awarded to the best player on ground for all Wombats league games. Bottles will also be awarded for the 'Play of the Day' and for the opposition 'Player of the Match'.

08-November-2009 vs YCAC (Pacific Cup Final) Paul Shackleford does it again in the Pac Cup final by taking 4 wickets in 4 overs. Shaxy's splendid performances in the last two Pac Cup fixtures have rocketed him to the top of TWCC's 2009 leading wicket-takers! Of course, another bottle of wine from our sponsor, Hardys Wines, was duly awarded!

25-October-2009 vs Paddy Foley's (Pacific Cup Semi-final) Another big wicket haul for Paul Shackleford reminded all of us that he has been one of the club's top wicket-takers over the years. Shaxxy's 5-fa also included two stumpings. Paul takes home this week's Hardys' Man of the Match award!

12-October-2009 vs YCAC & Sri Lankan Lions (Triangular T20) GT led from the front and contributed a typical captain's knock of 73 not out in the first Twenty20 match against the Sri Lankan Lions. Enjoy the wine Grant!

27-September-2009 vs Wyverns (J1C) Always a steady performer in finals matches - Steve Burke once again showed his class with a sterling 64 not out and two very tough outfield catches. Burkey's efforts with the bat steered the Wombats to another J1C premiership!

26-April-2009 vs Sano (J1C) Gavin's all-round solid performance once again netted him the Hardys' Man of the Match award. 'Beathy' bowled 7 tight overs and snared 2 wickets for only 15 runs and then backed it up with the bat to add 16 runs to the Wombats' run chase.

12-April-2009 vs Wyverns (J1C) Gavin 'Jesse' Beath wasted no time in making his mark with the wombats in his first official game by bludgeoning a 103-ball 118! Beathy showed no mercy for his former Wyvern team mates and belted twelve 4s and five 6s to take home this week's Hardys' Man of the Match!

26-May-2007 vs KRAC (HARDYS Challenge) Chuck's 68 off 50 balls (including 5 huge sixes) gave the Wommies a chance of victory chasing 260 against KRAC. It wasn't to be but the knock was certainly worthy of a HARDYS MoM award.
